Dec 20, 2012 If the pistons are solid dome, you can mill them flat no problem. I didnt see where it said this is a dirt late model motor, but if thats correct, TR is right about the cam, its a non-starter for a blower motor, will almost certianly be on a 105-108 lsa, wont work worth a crap in a blown motor. You will be pushing lots of fuel out of the pipes

How To Make Pistons Lighter - Wiseco

Pistons and rods are actually under some of the most extreme stress at TDC during changeover between exhaust and intake strokes, where there’s little resistance to the upward motion of the piston from pressure in the chamber, and the piston is suddenly changing direction as the motion of the crank starts to yank it back down the bore

Three's Company: Understanding Rod Length, Piston

Jul 11, 2018 The relationship between connecting rod length, piston compression height and compression ratio is often misunderstood, largely due to the misuse of the term “compression”. In all honesty it probably shouldn’t be applied to piston terminology at all except as it relates to the shape of the piston crown surface. Compression is a volume related term […]

Nov 24, 2015 Of course, milling the piston because of rod and stroke moving it up the bore at TDC leaves less piston to valve clearance, so you'll need to check that and possibly need to mill the valve relief deeper. Not knowing the true CC chamber volume of your heads I couldn't figure out the true compression ratio

Aug 03, 2019 I have a Non-Hemi Predator 212. I opened it up today. It has never been run. The piston sits .020 in the hole (measured from piston edge to block face, NOT THE DISH) The stock gasket measures .009-.010 I’m no mathematician but it seems that my stock engine has .030 piston to head clearance. I want to install a billet rod and a mod 2 cam

Jun 10, 2016 The way I see it you need to have the rods pressed off the pistons. Taking material off the piston dome will require the motor to be rebalanced. I would never reuse piston rings. If I was doing it I'd have the rods pressed off the pistons, clamp pistons down on mill table by the flats under the piston pin boss and fly cut the piston tops
